Use felt pads or plastic glides under the legs of all furniture in order to prevent scuffing and scratching.
Place mats and throw rugs at doorways, interiors and exteriors to help prevent the tracking of grit and dirt.
Hardwood Floor Care
Sweep, vacuum or dust mop wood floors regularly. We recommend using an 18-inch oil-treated dust mop or vacuum with a soft bristle brush attachment.
Never wet-mop a wood floor. Standing water can dull the finish, damage the wood and leave a discoloring residue. For best results, use a neutral floor cleaning product in a spray bottle along with a dry sponge-mop. Adjust spray bottle to a fine mist and apply just enough to work one area at a time. Depending on the amount of traffic, this should only be necessary every three to four weeks, and will help to maintain a good sheen on the floor surface.
Carpet Floor Care
Vacuum Regularly Most dirt, and even dust, takes the form of hard particles. When left in the carpet these gritty, sharp particles abrade the pile of the carpet. Regular vacuuming not only prolongs the life of the carpet, but will enhance its appearance as well. Most soiling in carpet is of the dry, particle type which can be removed with a vacuum cleaner. Vacuum high traffic lanes daily, medium to high traffic areas twice weekly, and the entire house at least once a week.
Laminate Floor Care
Routine cleaning requires just vacuuming, dusting with a clean dry or semi-wet mop. Use a light duty cleaner for scuffmarks. Never use scouring substances, abrasive cleaners, paste waxes or any floor polishes.
